Mr. Pines was born on February 20, 1949 in Tampa, Florida. He attended Jesuit High School in Tampa, and thereafter received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of South Florida, where he served as President of Pi Sigma Epsilon fraternity.

Mr. Pines received his Juris Doctorate from Florida State University College of Law in 1974. While attending law school, he was chosen to be a certified intern for the Leon County State Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted felony cases. Thereafter, he was chosen to be a certified intern for the Office of the Attorney General, where he assisted in writing and arguing appellate cases before the First District Court of Appeal and the Florida Supreme Court.

Mr. Pines he began his formal litigation career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Hillsborough County, Florida. In his time as an Assistant State Attorney, Mr. Pines rose to the level of Division Chief, where he was responsible for major crimes including First Degree Murder.

Mr. Pines opened his law office in 1978. He has represented clients and has litigated complex cases throughout the state of Florida and throughout the country, including the states of Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and New Jersey.

Mr. Pines is a member of the Family Law and Criminal Law Sections of the Florida Bar. He is also an active member of the Family Inn of Tampa (American Inns of Court).

Mr. Pines is married with a daughter and two grandchildren. He is an accomplished aircraft multi-engine instrument rated pilot, as well as a martial arts and sailing enthusiast.
